Since we're more than two-thirds of the way through my first month of game-defeating challenge, it's time to list a bunch of the shorter games that I played during the span of this month! I tend to go through a ton of short games that don't count as the games on my "to-beat list" (see this page below the divider for details). Therefore, each month will end with a roundup of all the extra games I played during that month's time.

Many of the following games are downloaded through Freem or Vector (Japanese file-hosting site that creators put their free games on) or played online at avenues such as RPGアツマール on NicoNico! Like I've talked about before, these free games are all amazing and often more creative and leave a longer-lasting impact than commercial/paid games released today.

Preliminary Report | January
January 22nd
I'm still chugging through 排気ガスサークル and having a ton of fun, with Gris left as my final "need to finish" game for January. Hidden Folks will probably continue as an in-progress game into February! I think I can probably get both done in seven days...right? (Stop setting flags for yourself)
January 27th
Finished 排気ガスサークル! Now only Gris is left. However... I accidentally started 大海原と大海原 and got hooked, so maybe I'll switch Gris for a February game instead. Sorry!
Monthly Roundup | January
January 30th
Phew! I managed to get through all the games I planned for this month, although a few were switched around in favour of others. 🎉🎉🎉 Actually, I played a ton of games for the time, especially since class started for me before the new year. Of course, most of them were free games that each usually take less than ten hours to beat, but they are also harder than you'd expect and pretty emotionally/mentally taxing.
If we're counting, I finished a grand total of 34 games this month, not including Tetris Effect (which I beat twice and started chugging away at the Effect Modes, participating in the Ritual events etc.). However, games that have a reasonable length (longer than 4 hours) are only 22. (That's still a lot...) February is probably going to be a lot less full of games as I wean off my "free game fever" period. Every January I always get this fever...
I also spent a ton of time playing phone games like a fool. According to my phone's Game Launcher (a very useful app preinstalled on Samsung Galaxy phones that measures the time you spend on games), here is my January mobile report.
Most played games of January | Mobile
ディズニー ツイステッドワンダーランド
プロジェクトセカイ カラフルステージ feat. 初音ミク
フェイトグランドオーダー
Pokémon Masters DX
刀剣乱舞
It's likely nobody even knows any of these games (especially in the English-speaking community) but the first-place game has a total hour count of 1657 hours and 44 minutes now... (Although like 40% of that time is leaving it auto-running.) By the way, the game came out March last year and I started really playing in June.
Overall it was an excellent and fulfilling month for video gaming, although I am eternally slightly behind on my schoolwork. Maintaining grades always comes first, but the games I play probably teach me more about life than my textbooks if I'm honest with you... Anyway, I'm looking forward to February's six games starting with TOWER of HANOI!
Thank you for reading this far!
