I haven't watched the Summer Games Fest kickoff yet but before I could get to it the day of the UbiForward show has arrived! And of course Devolver's yearly, uh, sarcastic explosion. (Also the next Mario+Rabbids game leaked ahead of time, again...)
Anyway I'm gonna be jotting down my notes on the event since E3 week has me more excited than a kid at Christmas!

Ubisoft Forward
Looks like after the whole employee racial discrimination thing, they're being careful about representation... (Okay, I'll stop talking about this)
Rainbow Six Extraction | PC, XBOX, PS4/5
Rainbow Six: Extraction trailer first off. Why do I get sort of uh...pandemic vibe from this? Even if it's bacterial zombie aliens LOL
I wonder if this is actual gameplay? The game looks gorgeous but somehow I feel like it's cinematic and not in-engine.
Releases on XBOX/Playstation/PC September 16th. It's on Ubisoft+ and will feature crossplay
1-3 player co-op experience, PVE not PVP. Some equipment is similar to Siege, but there will be ability unlocks. If a teammate goes missing you have to grab them in an "extraction" from the containment zone. You risk losing all upgrades -- like a roguelite? Every time you go in.
So the aliens or "parasites" called Archaeans? were discovered a few years ago and have been discovered in several sites across the US. Their 'kind' have a bunch of names like Sprawl, Breacher, Apex etc.
Gameplay footage incoming. Featuring containment zone in Alaska. The UI is really minimalist if it really looks like this -- barely there at all. Start off by throwing in a "seeker" thing to detect enemies. Featuring stealth. Doesn't look as good as the movie but it's still pretty beautiful.
There are "rest areas" in between zones of increasing difficulty. Restock, resupply, heal. Can also bring home "intel".
Once an operator/player "dies" they are put in stasis and captured, and the rest of the team has to go rescue them. I think the player can become "someone else" to do this though.

Riders' Republic | PC and console?
Vaguely remember seeing this last year? Maybe? It's a game with boarding, parachuting? jet-planing?? and biking?? skiing? Man everything's in here... Is it gonna be very shallow with all these mechanics?
There's competitive play, singleplayer campaigns, challenges, and exploring areas and landmarks. Events are also happening every week.
You can play a 6v6 multiplayer boarding competition. Like OlliOlli, but multiplayer and 3D. There's also like a 12345 player zone.
Can also be first-person or third-person.
Releases September 2nd.
Rainbow Six Siege
Six years old and passed 200,000 concurrent players. I've watched a lot of this game since it's good but never played it 'cause I'm bad.
June 30th: Launches with crossplay on PC, Luna and Stadia
2022: crossplay and progression with XBOX and PlayStation
New animated trailer for the new character "Thunderbird" and a new event? starting next week.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla
Valhalla look-back, biggest launch of AC game to date. Free updates have been coming and will continue to update.
Expansions: Wrath of the Druids / Siege of Paris (upcoming)
AC Discovery Tour: Viking Age will be released this fall and is free for AC Valhalla owners. It's an exploration of history.
Will support the game INTO its second year with more expansions instead of releasing a new game? Interesting.
Movies and TV
Mythic Quest (Apple TV+) 2 seasons.
Werewolves Within, movie releasing in theatres June 25th. Honestly it looks like it's taking itself too seriously. (It's not very good...) Based off the game.
Far Cry 6 | PC, console
Finally!
Story trailer. I think it was pretty good.
The "creating of a villain" Anton Castillo.
More game trailers. Something about it all being in Your Head? Vague horror elements??
Far Cry 6 season pass including Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon (included in the Gold Edition)
Mario & Rabbids: Sparks of Hope | Switch
(the one that leaked) with Rosalina and Lumas!
The trailer actually looks pretty good. Apparently space is being invaded by a giant purple Cthulhu monster that everyone has to beat up. Rosalina Rabbid is hilairous.
Major expansion to a larger scale (galaxy to save). Rosalina and other surprises will be discovered across many planets you can travel to.
New allies: Sparks (Rabbids mixed with Lumas) which are the core of the story
Exclusive to Switch
Sneak Peek gameplay! Pre-alpha but it looks pretty cool!! One leader followed by two sub-players. The underwater dungeon looks amazing. Sort of reminds me of a 3D Mario & Luigi game
2022 release.
CEO Yves Guillemot talking
One More Thing!
??? | PC, XBOX, Playstation, Luna
Latest version of the Snowdrop Engine.
AVATAR???
Wait a second?? If this is in-game footage it's freaking BEAUTIFUL?!
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
2022
Ubisoft+ Subscription Service advertisement. 60% off your first month for a limited time.
Post-show with Rainbow Six
So! It wasn't so bad of a show I think. They were a lot more muted on the Just Dance front since there wasn't anywhere to do a dance. I'm definitely most interested in Far Cry 6, Mario+Rabbids, Rainbow Six Extraction and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora in that order. Since I know nothing about Avatar (not the last Airbender).
Looks like Avatar is an immersive, first-person, open-world action-adventure game. A never-before seen part of Pandora will be explored by our protagonist (whose name I don't know). I think I need to finally watch this movie!? LOL Otherwise, most of the news was very much expected, probably since COVID slowed it all down. No wonder AC Valhalla is being "supported into next year" instead, right? Hopefully it works out for them next year.
Thank you for reading this far! Next is Devolver Digital's "Direct". Stay tuned for more E3 stuff coming in full swing this week! (XBOX+Bethesda and Square Enix is tomorrow... And then Nintendo on the 15th!)
I'm excited,
Storm
