After last year's very messed up coagulation of livestreams and lacklustre announcements, it looks like E3 and Summer Games Fest have sort of picked up their slack this year! (The recent State of Play was so good with Horizon: Forbidden West ✨✨)
By the way, I've been watching The Game Awards (and Geoff) since they started and I'm a big fan now, even though I was sorta sceptical at first. It seems like Geoff Keighley's (and the team's) whole approach to these things is to stuff in a bunch of performances too, so maybe I'll talk about those! (I still can't get over Green Day showing up at the last Game Awards, which basically just murdered me on the spot...)

Hideo Kojima from Tokyo speaks about how the pandemic changed his creative thinking process. He says it's sort of like how 9/11 changed the way others thought.
He always wants to put "society" elements into the game. Making it entertaining but keeping some (not realism but something like that) he wants to make sure he doesn't mistake the kind of ideas he's introducing to the player. (Rough translation mine since I was just listening to the audio)

Elden Ring
So obviously I got spoiled right away for the Elden Ring announcement scrolling through Reddit since it exploded. Also got to watch the trailer showing off the release date. Very excited, don't get me wrong... but honestly I still need to play Sekiro and I'm so behind on FROM Software games that the game might stay on my wishlist for 200 years.
By the way, I'm listening to Geoff's Q&A on the other E3 events, and it seems as if the XBOX+Bethesda joint show is going to show their new IP, Starfield, too. That's on Sunday.
It was so fun to see all the stuff shown this time. Eventually I'll probably do a short thing on the rest of the not-quite-E3 shows like the Guerilla Collective and Day of the Devs or something!
