Storm

It's that time of year again!

Before the stream starts (premiere?) I guess I'm expecting a few release dates on indie games. Maybe something on Omori, something on Eiyuuden. Obviously no Silksong but I am hoping for one or two new announcements. Now let's see what things look like!

North American Indie World

  • It's started!

Ooblets

  • by Glumberland

  • Farming game plus ooblet collecting. Also has Animal Crossing elements

  • Sumer 2022

Batora: Lost Haven

  • by Team17 and StormMind Games

  • Story-driven isometric dungeon exploring?

  • Autumn 2022

ElecHead

  • by NamaTakahashi

  • This was announced a while ago: puzzle platformer with interesting mechanics

  • Summer 2022

Soundfall

  • by Drastic Games and Noodlecake

  • Rhythm-based + looter-shooter blaster with a wonderful soundtrack. Up to 4 players co-op online/local

  • 140+ tracks!

  • Dude it's out TODAY!

Wildfrost

  • by Chucklefish and Deadpan Games

  • Deckbuilding roguelite which is something I always love. Reminds me of Grindstone

  • Winter 2022

TABS for Switch

  • by Landfall Games

  • Summer 2022

Gunbrella

  • by Devolver and Doinksoft

  • Gato Roboto's creator makes a noir-punk action-adventure: side-scrolling platformer

  • 2023

We are OFK

  • by Team OFK

  • Indie-pop band OFK makes a narrative musical adventure

  • 2023?

SILT

  • by Fireshine Games and Spiral Circus

  • Puzzle adventure that looks like Inside's underwater parts

  • June 2022

Mini Motorways for Switch

  • by Dinosaur Polo Club

  • Out today!

Wayward Strand

  • by Ghost Pattern

  • July 21

Cult of the Lamb

  • by Devolver

  • Roguelite 2022

Another Crab's Treasure

  • by Aggro Crab

  • Souls--uh, shellslike

  • Going Under didn't make them rich!? It's so good

  • 2023

Upcoming games showcase

  • Oneshot World Machine Edition / Summer. GREAT GAME

  • Gibbon: Beyond the Trees / Today

  • Idol Manager / August 25

  • Card Shark / Devolver / Demo today

  • Cursed to Golf / Summer 2022

  • A Guidebook of Babel / Autumn 2022

  • OPUS Echo of Starsong / Today

I wish the narrators were a little faster or less... you know though... they were very difficult to listen to.

Japanese Indie World

Now here's a narrator I know and love! (Also played many games with him in it. Glad he's doing well)

Information exclusive to the Japanese will be in bold.

  • Elechead

  • Card Shark / June 2 release date

  • ONESHOT / Summer

  • Gang Beasts (isn't this out in NA already?) / today

  • Don't Starve Together (definitely out in NA) / today

  • OPUS Starsong / Today

  • A Guidebook of Babel / Autumn

  • OMORI / June 17; physical out by end of year in Japan

  • (Indie World / Switch Channel ad)

  • Behind the Frame (out in NA already?) / June 2

  • TABS / Summer

  • Neon White / Annapurna / Summer 2022

  • Mini Motorways / Today

  • Super Nodage World / July 28

  • UNDYING by Skystone games / 2022

  • Idol Manager by Playism / August 25

Okay, I wasn't expecting them to completely forego Omori on the NA show but include it in the JP version. I guess it is going to release on time, which is good? Also, Oneshot coming to Japan is great for fans of that kind of game. Awesome game that made me cry.

It was a rather lacklustre Indie World in my opinion -- but since I loved it anyway, that means I have no standards. Very interested in the music fighting game that just dropped today so I'll be back after I check it out!!

Thanks for reading this far!
